Background and qualifications
Kirsten Paynter spent 20 years as an academic physician and educator at Mayo Clinic Arizona. She is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine. For nine of those years she was the only woman in her department. She wrote a book chapter in Burnout in Women Physicians, published by Springer in 2020. After a major life disruption in 2012, she began her own path to flourishing. She then completed multiple formal coach trainings and holds NBHWC certification. She coached patients, students, residents, fellows and colleagues. She left clinical practice in 2022.
