Tanner was later chosen as Deputy Chief of Staff to McKinsey's Global Managing Partner. Tanner then became Chief of Staff to the CEO of an a16z-backed aerospace technology startup. After that Tanner joined a $350M farmland investment firm as Chief of Staff. That role grew into Tanner's current job as VP of Investment Strategy, where Tanner leads strategy, business development, and investor relations.
