Background and qualifications
Matt is a two-time founder who exited both companies. He later became a CEO coach and founded the coaching firm Sanity Labs. He is also an active angel investor. In 2016, his company laid off 80% of its staff. The remaining team stayed together, grew the business, and sold it three years later. He realized in October 2016 that he was burned out and wanted out of the CEO role. He left by exiting the business. He now writes about founder burnout, founder psychology, and co-founder conflict, and he sends out a newsletter called Sanity Notes.
