Malerie counseled at John Jay High School in Cross River from 1997 to 2020 and at Dobbs Ferry High School from 1990 to 1997. Malerie has run an independent college counseling practice since 2005. Malerie holds a master's in school and community counseling from Loyola University of Chicago and a psychology degree from SUNY Albany. Malerie also has more than 90 graduate credits in counseling.
