Background and qualifications
Brent spent more than 25 years in media relations and crisis communications in government. In August 2020 he moved into Human Resources in the same organization and led a healthy and respectful workplaces program. Before government, he spent a decade as a radio announcer at stations in eastern Canada. He became proficient in French and used it in his government roles. He earned the ICF Associate Certified Coach designation in 2018 and the Professional Certified Coach designation in October 2021. He retired in November 2021 to focus on coaching. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry and volunteered as an on-call hospital chaplain.
