Adrian Kimber is a HYROX performance coach who trains hybrid athletes for race day. He founded The Hybrd Foundry and works from Lake Bluff, serving Chicago's North Shore and athletes online. He is a Level 2 HYROX Performance Coach and races Pro himself. His plans run twelve weeks and are built backwards from the athlete's race date. Strength and engine are trained together, because the HYROX course demands both under fatigue.
What Adrian helps with
Adrian helps athletes prepare for HYROX races and build the mix of strength and running fitness the course demands.
- Preparing for a HYROX race on a set date
- Training strength and running together under fatigue
- Building a base before a race date is chosen
- Getting technique feedback on HYROX stations
- Racing as a pair with a training partner
- Getting a written weekly plan based on test scores
Who Adrian works with
Adrian coaches people who have entered a HYROX race and people who are still thinking about one. He also works with athletes who have no race on the calendar yet and want to build first. Pairs can train together. Some athletes train alone with a plan, and others train in a small group.
How Adrian works
Every plan is built backwards from the athlete's race date over twelve weeks. Strength and engine are trained together, since the course tests both. Programming is written from test scores and delivered through the Everfit app. Online athletes get a weekly check-in, unlimited messaging and video technique review, and the week is rewritten around what they actually did. In-person athletes train in a group of twelve at most, with three coached sessions a week.
Background and qualifications
Adrian spent twenty years being coached at a high level, including twelve years in Premier League football. He is now a HYROX Academy certified performance coach, holds the Level 2 HYROX Performance Coach credential, and races HYROX in the Pro division. He founded The Hybrd Foundry, which coaches athletes in Lake Bluff, across Chicago's North Shore and online.
