Zaid spent nearly nine years looking for a spouse. He faced rejections and self-doubt along the way. Hiba did not know there was a search to be on until later. After they married, they built Halal Match to help other Muslim singles. They interviewed singles for a few years. A friend then suggested they share their stories, and that became the Diary of a Matchmaker podcast in 2024. They also have a book called The Compatibility Challenge.
