Who Stacey works with
Stacey works with students and their parents. She has particular experience with LGBTQ students, including trans and nonbinary students, and with students who are neurodivergent. How Stacey works
Blue Moon keeps the student at the center of the process. Work starts when the family is ready. Most families begin in junior year, and some start earlier. Early work can include executive functioning coaching and coached "side quests" that help students learn their values, strengths and interests. In junior year, students clarify their values, hopes and goals before choosing colleges. All meetings run over Zoom. The team also includes an essay coach and an academic success coach.
Background and qualifications
Stacey earned a BA in Literature and Creative Writing from Barnard College, an MA in Secondary English Education from New York University, and a Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA. She became a Certified Educational Planner in 2018. She taught English at Croton-Harmon High School and The Crefeld School. She then served as Director of College Counseling at Crefeld from 2005 to 2023. She opened Blue Moon in 2017. She is active in IECA, NACAC and PACAC, where she was President from 2022 to 2023.
