Mitchell began his career in investment banking in Atlanta and worked there for 2.5 years. He then took a finance and strategy contracting role in Denver. After 12 months he moved to Rocket Software, a Bain Capital backed software firm, where he worked in M&A and strategy. He worked with Bain Capital, the C-suite and the board on acquisitions. His deals ranged from small founder-owned tuck-ins to a carveout of more than $2b from OpenText. He has also acquired two email newsletters. One funds his lifestyle today and one failed.
