From 2008 to 2016 Haruka served in the Cornell alumni admissions network as Alameda County committee chair. Haruka trained Bay Area chairs and interviewers. In 2016 Haruka earned their Independent Educational Consulting certificate at UC Irvine and founded Plan It Education. Haruka read UC applications in 2016 and 2017. Haruka founded East Bay College Admissions Advisors in 2018 and joined WACAC and HECA. HECA named Haruka's Rising Star of the Year in 2023.
