Abby spent eight years as a school counselor before going into private practice. She was a school guidance counselor at Homewood-Flossmoor High School from 1998 to 2000. She then worked as a school guidance and college counselor at New Canaan High School from 2000 to 2004. From 2004 to 2006 she was a college counselor at Stuyvesant High School. She started Abby Siegel & Associates in September 2006.
